Cool..great guide, helped me a lot. I have just one question, why do you use Shadow Of Fear? I know it slows down the attack rate, but it also will slow down the time it takes for you to kill the target?

10 energy cost and a 5 second recharge. The only other thing close is Suffering which costs 15 energy and has a 20 second recharge. Yes, it slows down SS a bit but not enough to worry about.

I realized sometimes it's more important to slow down their attacking than to speed up your killing.

I think B effekt may be wrong?

Pfft I don't know I've never been into UW but I heard it was a cover hex for SS so the smites don't smite your SS.

Maybe it's used for both?

I'm just going on what I have been told, I really have never even been to UW. Ever.

i went down there once and used Wastrels worry as cover. it didnt work, but maybe that has changed or they treat that hex differently.

Yes it's a cover hex, an AoE one at that, and yes it's used for both reasons.

Kcp, actually yeah, it does cause energy problems for me. Not against 2 or more aatxe, but against a single aatxe I have to watch my energy. I guess I should mention I solo in armor, not scars like my guide says. Anyone starting out should use scars for the additional energy but I've learned to make do without it. Why you ask? Pants. I have this thing about them. I like to wear them. I just find something really unerving about running around naked in a dangerous place. Vigorous Spirit is all the healing I need when I'm fighting one aatxe. I'm assuming you use Healing Breeze when you fight a single one?

Honestly, I never deal with 1 aatxe at a time. It slows down your run. Two is the minimum I deal with, and will happily take on 4-5 any chance I can get.

Body blocking is an art, SS has a nice aoe so why not take advantage of it and increase your killing speed while minimizing your chance to catch an interrupt.

If you guys think aatxe are bad, wait until you try to tank 2 abyssals in fow without body blocking them. You'll be extremely lucky to get off a 1/4 second cast let alone a 2 second long SS cast.

I take it you use a male character, thus the reason for needing pants. I planned ahead and all my characters except for my warrior is female. Females look better w/o pants, but i'm male so it all works out

I get the first 2 wandering aatxe along with other groups, so I usually only have 2 single aatxe fights per run. I usually don't try to take on more than one aatxe group at a time because nightmares usually get me. I'll try it and see if I like Guardian more.

other good spots to farm when we don't have favor~

1- Blessed Griffins outside Camp Rankor
I have gotten ALOT of gold weapon drops here

2- Outside Port Sledge
Not UBERLEET drops but I have gotten some gold weapons and the money adds up fast

3- Titan Farming(defend denravi repeatable quest)
Have not tried it yet but I have heard it is very profitable.. Alot of gold runes and Magmas shields! I'm going to do some work on this... see how much money I can actually make off it... Also. I want a +45/-2 Magmas shield for my warrior!

4- Ettin Farming(from LA to Beetlerun)
Basic rune farming, most golds turn into majors for me.... but alot of people swear they have got superior vigors and absorptions.. I have gotten superior monk runes... but thats about all

*You metioned the elonas mission minitaurs.... do you ever get good drops from them? I did this a few times way back, didn't get anything good and abondoned the area.... do they drop anything worthwhile???

* The sand drakes outside Elona do drop gold weapons like every 3 runs.... I used to run a Blood Spike build for that area... very slow farming though... not to metion with a 55build there the rockshots love to interupt!

They should sticky a 55hp Necro thread.

If that's already done, I'm sure this thread will have almost no effect...

There are plenty of solo necro threads, but I haven't seen a stickied one yet. It would be nice if the mods could sticky a decent one so we can get back to talking about other things.

Undead Preacher:

How do you solo the griffons outside of Rankor. When i did it, they kept smiting hexes (SS and IS) and using spell breaker. I didn't die, but couldnt kill them fast (or at all), and it eventually got to a point where I just quit.

Thanks in advance,
Scourage of Death

27 hp dark bomber build = dead blessed griffons

Or take them in small groups with my uw build, remove guardian and toss in desecrate enchants or another skill of your choice.

But if they get Spellbreaker up then you won't be able to harm them for a while. I would prefer the Aura bomber for farming the Blessed Griffons.
